Campus Ministry Director
Kevin grew up in Lansing and at URC. He attended MSU where he was active in SCF and began to sense the call to full-time ministry. It was also at Michigan State that Kevin met his wife Rachel. Kevin and Rachel have been married 15 years and have spent half of those years living with and serving college students, first at Wheaton College (where Kevin completed a Masters degree in Theology) and most recently at Covenant College.
Kevin and Rachel have 6 children (James, Isaac, Peter, MaryGrace, LilyAnna and Elisabeth). Kevin finds much joy in the things that delight those around him which means that some of his primary hobbies these days involve bike rides, buckets of legos and duplos, coaching, and reading “Go Dog Go” over and over again.
Director of campus multiplication
Ryan serves on the campus ministry team and is committed to making the gospel of Jesus Christ known on the campus of Michigan State University. His favorite part about his role is that he gets to meet with students to study the Bible and see it transform their lives.
Ryan graduated from MSU in 2008 and spent the next year as a pastoral intern at URC before attending Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Before joining the campus staff he most recently served as a pastoral resident at College Church in Wheaton, IL. Ryan met his beautiful bride Sarah while in college and married shortly after graduation. They have three children William, Gwendolyn, and Calvin.
But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8
Campus Staff Associate
Ben came to Michigan State as a freshman in the fall of 2009. He got involved in Spartan Christian Fellowship as a student and grew in his understanding of the gospel and the Bible. He also began to realize that the new life of a Christian is meant to be spent in loving and blessing others by pointing them to Christ (2 Cor 5:17-20).
After graduating, Ben decided to join SCF staff as an intern to continue his ministry with internationals. He was also assigned to work in the East neighborhood of MSU’s campus, leading a discipleship group and bible study in that area.
Ben interned for two years with SCF, after which he decided with his new wife Alyssa (married in summer 2015) to transition to working as a full campus staff member. He joined the staff team in December 2016 and plans to stay at least through the 2019-20 school year.
Ben’s aforementioned, beautiful, smart, and wonderful wife Alyssa is currently studying for a doctorate in Biochemistry through Michigan State. She also meets with students from MSU for discipleship, and lends her talents to SCF graphic design. Ben and Alyssa have a deep desire for the riches of God’s grace to be proclaimed at MSU and for the glories of Christ to be treasured in the hearts of the students there.
